Disaster Relief through FBC Blanchard, LA

The FBC Blanchard Disaster Relief Team is a ministry of First Baptist Church Blanchard.

Every member of our team is a part of it because they feel that’s where God has placed them to use their talents. It is all voluntary.

We are also associated with Louisiana Baptists Disaster Relief and The Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief. We respond to major storm events such as tornados and hurricane damage across the state, and country if needed.

We love what we do, and we hope we can be a beacon of light during the darkest time of a person's life.

Our unit here in Blanchard is a Chainsaw Unit. We have a chainsaw trailer with the tools needed to help us remove the trees. We also have a skid steer to assist in moving heavy logs and large amounts of brush as needed.

• Our primary mission is to remove trees off of houses without doing any further damage, then covering the damaged area with tarps until the damage can be repaired.

• The other priority of our team is to remove trees blocking driveways of a house with an occupant that has a medical condition that would require immediate emergency transport or evacuation.

• All of this is done at no cost to the owner.

• Another area of our ministry is coming to the aid of our community during or after a local storm.

• We clear trees out of roads at the request of the local police chief to get the road open as soon as possible

• We assist other teams from inside and outside of the state to help clean up after flood damage.

• We also have team members who are part of the La. Baptists Disaster Relief feeding team. They go out and prepare meals, either for volunteers, or for victims of a storm that has come through the area.

​Our team members will assist our church’s men’s ministry in assisting with the needs of members of our church when there are trees down around their homes. Our purpose is to show Christ and share Christ as we work.
