"Worship" is more than music that evokes an emotion. It is the way we give glory to God
in every aspect of our lives. At First Baptist, we realize it is not about us, and
our ultimate goal is that Christ be the focus when we worship through singing or
playing an instrument during what we call "corporate worship".
No matter the talent you've been given, you will find a place you can serve in First Baptist's music ministry.
There are also places of worship as choir leaders and choir assistants. We are
a "high expectation" music ministry and each of us realizes that there is a level of
commitment required when answering the call to lead others in worship through the use
of music. Come praise the Lord with us!

- 3yr old - Kindergarten Choir: - Christine Flarity leads the "Wee Sing" choir on Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the fall and spring. They learn beginning basics of music and occasionally sing in our evening services.
- 1st-5th Grade Choir: - This choir is led by Keith Sherrell and meets each Wednesday in the choir suite at 6:15pm during the fall and spring. Basic music theory is taught along with a musical which is presented in the fall/spring. This age group also attends the Summer Music Camp where they learn music to be presented at our annual summer musical.
- Youth Choir (6th-12th grade): - This choir is led by Victoria Tatum and Joseph Prator and meets at 4:30pm on Sunday afternoons in the youth building. They present musicals as well as dramas throughout the year.
- Voices of Praise (18yrs+): - Our adult choir meets each Wednesday nights at 7:30, following our Wednesday Bible study. This choir sings in our Celebration Service as well and presents musicals throughout the year.
- Joy Choir: - Our senior adult choir is led by Marsha Allen. They meet each Wednesday at 10am in the choir suite and since at various nursing homes and monthly in our evening worship service.
- Praise Band: - This group leads in worship each week and accompanies the Voices of Praise during concerts. Contact the church office for information on joining our praise band.
- Bells of Praise: - This group begins meeting in September each year to prepare for the Christmas season. If you are interested in playing handbells please contact the music office.
