Music Ministries


"Worship" is more than music that evokes an emotion. It is the way we give glory to God in every aspect of our lives. At First Baptist, we realize it is not about us, and our ultimate goal is that Christ be the focus when we worship through singing or playing an instrument during what we call "corporate worship".

No matter the talent you've been given, you will find a place you can serve in First Baptist's music ministry. There are also places of worship as choir leaders and choir assistants. We are a "high expectation" music ministry and each of us realizes that there is a level of commitment required when answering the call to lead others in worship through the use of music. Come praise the Lord with us!



  • 3yr old - Kindergarten Choir: - Ellen Briggs leads the "Wee Sing" choir on Sundays at 4:30pm. They learn beginning basics of music and occasionally sing in our evening services.
  • 1st-5th Grade Choir: - This choir is led by Keith Sherrell and meets each Sunday at 4:15pm. Basic music theory is taught along with a musical which is presented in the spring and fall. They also present our annual patriotic musical.
  • Youth Choir (6th-12th grade): - This new choir, led by Mr. Robbie Briggs is tentatively scheduled to meet at 4:30 on Sundays. This group sings in various worship services and takes a musical "on the road" each summer for a choir tour.
  • Voices of Praise (18yrs+): - Our adult choir meets each Wednesday night at 7:30, following our Wednesday worship service.
  • Joy Choir: - Directed by Sylvia Bond, our senior adult choir meets on Wednesday mornings at 10:00am. They sing in our evening worship services and at nursing homes throughout the area.
  • Praise Band: This group leads in worship each
    week and accompanies the Voices of Praise during concerts. Contact the church office for information on joining our praise band.
  • Bells of Praise: - Directed by Cynthia Terral, our hand bell choir meets each Sunday at 4:15pm and is always looking for more "ringers".

Voices of Praise rehearsal
Hey Voices of Praise members, we need you on Wednesday nights at 7:30 for rehearsal.

Parablelooza 2!
The 1st - 5th grade choir is working on the second production of Parablelooza. Join us on Sundays at 4:15.

Handbells
Handbell choir starts back on February 14 at 4:00.

Edge Choir
Robbie needs more youth in the Edge Choir. Join them at 4:45 each Sunday in the youth building.
